WES Survey Field Crew Instrument Person Position Expectations


The Field Crew Instrument Person will use a variety of Land Survey Instruments to support a crew in their daily operations. They will assist in the completion of Field Surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief. They are responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments of Land Survey equipment (I.E. Tripods, Levels, Total Stations, GNSS Receivers, Data Radios/Modems & Other Necessary Field Equipment). They are able to read and interpret various types of maps and plans associated with the project. They are able to complete neat and orderly field notes for Land Survey operations, with supervision from Crew Chief. The Instrument Person keeps Crew Chief informed of obstacles and/or progress. They load and unload trucks with Land Survey equipment and supplies, in addition to cleaning and maintaining the Land Survey equipment, tools and vehicle. They adhere to all company safety procedures. 

 

What WES Needs From Our Team Member

  • 2+ Years of Industry Experience, Prior Instrument Experience Preferred
  • Knowledgeable in the Principles & Performance of Basic Types of Surveys, Survey Computations & Field Operations
  • Competent Operating Total Stations, GNSS Receivers, Data Collectors, Tablet PCs, Digital Scanning Equipment is Not Required but a Bonus
  • Experience with Trimble Equipment is Preferred
  • Computer & Technical Skills
  • Professional Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work in All-Weather Climates
  • Ability to Walk Long Distances Through a Variety of Terrains & Carry Equipment
  • Proven Work History & Strong Work Ethic
  • Ability to Identify & Troubleshoot Issues & Problem Solve Accordingly
