WES SIT Assistant Position Expectations
The Surveyor in Training (SIT) Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the RPLS Project Manager in planning, organizing, and executing survey projects while managing both office and field staff. Key responsibilities include overseeing project surveying services, mentoring and motivating teams, and maintaining strong client and internal relationships. The SIT participates in estimating, proposal preparation, and business development while coordinating staffing needs for projects of various scales. They prepare boundary analysis, ensure quality control of project deliverables, and assist in tracking project budgets and resources.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist in the Development & Management of Proposals & Bids, Budgets, Schedules, Billings & Contracts
- Assist in the Project Management from Proposal to Project Submittal Phase
- Prepare Plats, Legal Descriptions, Review Field Notes, Control Drawings, and Other Survey Deliverables in Accordance with Applicable Standards
- Perform Boundary Research and Analysis, Including Review of Deeds, Easements, Plats, and Other Record Documents
- Coordinate and Support Field Crews by Preparing Field Packages
- Assist in Effectively Managing Sub-Consultants & Other Project Relationships
- Assist RPLS in Management & Reporting Financial Status for Projects
What WES Needs From Our Team Member
Requirements:
- Surveying in Training (SIT) Certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS)
- 1 - 3+ Years of Industry-Related Work Experience in a Professional or Management Capacity
- Ability to Manage Field Surveys in Coordination with Field Crew Manager
- Support Research & Data Analysis for Property Boundaries & Land Records
- Work Under Supervision of RPLS To Gain Practical Experience
Preferred & Bonus Skills:
- Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Related Discipline/and or Equivalent Experience
- Strong Proficiency of Software Such as AutoCAD, Carlson C&G, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office Suite – Knowledge in MicroStation & ORD is a Bonus
- Professional Written & Verbal Communication Skills Both Externally & Internally
- Ability to Identify & Troubleshoot Issues & Problem Solve Accordingly
- Drive to Meet or Exceed Aggressive Deadlines While Maintaining Teamwork & Collaboration with Clients, Team Members & Sub-Consultants
