WES Civil CAD Designer / Technician Position Expectations
WES is seeking a Civil CAD Designer / Technician with experience in the Drafting and Design of Site Development, Land Development and/or Transportation Projects. Civil3D proficiency is required for this role. The position will primarily involve the production of Civil Plan Sets for Commercial Site Development and Public Roadway Projects. Cross-training opportunities, if desired, to learn in depth Land Surveying Drafting will be available.
Specific Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D to Assist Engineers in the Production of Project Drawings
- Help Create/Compile Project Documentation Using Standard Office Software
- Perform Internet-Based or In-Person Project Research
- Attend Project Meetings/Field Visits and Communicate with Project Stakeholders as Appropriate
- Perform Other Departmental Tasks as Directed by Supervising Engineer
- Conduct QC Checks of Work Produced by Self and by Peers
- Ensure Schedules & Productivity Objectives for Preparation of Deliverables are Reached
What WES Needs From Our Team Member
- 1-3+ Years of Industry Related Work Experience in a Professional Capacity
- Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Related Discipline/and or Equivalent Experience, Not Required, But Encouraged
- Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Related Discipline/and or Equivalent Experience
- Demonstrated Civil Engineering Project Experience for Both Mid to Large Scale Site Development, Land Development, and/or Transportation Projects
- Strong Proficiency in Civil 3D; Ability in Microstation or Other Industry Software a Plus
- Professional Written & Verbal Communication Skills Including the Ability to Proactively Coordinate with Outside Parties
- Ability to Identify & Troubleshoot Issues & Problem Solve Accordingly

- Drive to Meet or Exceed Aggressive Deadlines While Maintaining Teamwork & Collaboration with Clients, Team Members & Sub-Consultants
